The sun no sooner rises than it shines; the fire is no sooner kindled than it burns;

so grace acts as soon as the soul cooperates.

O Magnum Mysterium

O Magnum Mysterium is a responsorial chant from the Matins of Christmas. We'll be hearing it at our parish tonight. :) Enjoy...

Latin text
O magnum mysterium,
et admirabile sacramentum,
ut animalia viderent Dominum natum,
jacentem in praesepio!
Beata Virgo, cujus viscera
meruerunt portare
Dominum Christum.
Alleluia.
English translation
O great mystery,
and wonderful sacrament,
that animals should see the new-born Lord,
lying in a manger!
Blessed is the Virgin whose womb
was worthy to bear
Christ the Lord.
Alleluia!

That was beautiful Melody! I've been listening to Marian Hymns sung by Carmelite nuns and many are in Latin.Your song reminded of it. I think I'll put mine on now too! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
